New Here / Just Got A Rx330 2005

Me and my wife just adopted a RX330 lexus from my wifes parents.

I have a few questions.

What generation is this year 3,4,5 ?

The dvd navigation is Version 04.2 .................... We would like to update this feature. Besides the dealer where could we get a new Nav disc.?

Does anyone have the model number or current version # for this feature.

Gen 4 DVD based, 5.1 update disc P/N 00230-GEN4S-CY05 , Numbers on the DVD are: 86271-33045 & 464210-0660

Yes, yours is Gen 4.

BTW, the newest version (data version 7.1) is out, so I would look for that version.

Besides the dealer, you can find it on eBay (be careful) and Sewell Lexus (online at lexus-parts.com).

If I understand it correctly, installing a new version map DVD also upgrades the software? Does the installation of updates disable the ability to override the navigation lockout feature on a 2005 RX 330?

If yes, does a workaround exist? I really do not want to lose that capability.
