lenore Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Welcome tom, pretty much the timing belt is the big thing, everything else is oil change, brake fluid change, etc. That being said the timing belt change can cost $1200 at the Stealership, but at the toyota dealerships can cost around $450 for the same service. While in there the water pump should be checked, since it is driven by the timing belt, also the timing belt idlers. I personally had the water pump changed just because the labor savings if it were to fail. Cost me $500 at the Toyota dealership. Next time I will do it all myself. Total cost would be about $150 for all parts. Dont bother getting the valves adjusted, that is a waste of money. mine has 147 K miles and the engine is as quiet and smooth as new.
