Lexucan Posted December 8, 2007 Share Posted December 8, 2007 I have a1996 ES300 with a CD changer problem, when asked to play it shows err on the display any thoughts I get this same "ERR" sometimes when the changer tries to play a CD-R (a burned CD), but it has no problem playing regular prerecorded store-bought music CDs. It seems that once it has played a regular CD for a few minutes, then I can switch to the CD-R and it will play it too. You may also want to buy a CD head cleaning kit and run it through your changer. If the optical reader gets a bit dirty, it will cause an error.
