Wooha317
I took my car in for Window tint this weekend to the Lexus dealer. They told me the tint won't ully cure for about 6 weeks. There is debris (i.e. fabric, dirt) in between the film and the window. i don't expect the debris to disappear during the curing process. this is the first time i have had tinted windows. Is this to be expected or should i have the dealer look at this situation more closely. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Chuy
If it really stands out, you can try and get them to re-do it. Can you see the debris from the driver's seat? Take your car to an independent window tint vendor and see what they think.
lenore
Debris is unacceptable. I have been getting window tint from an independent that does the dealership cars, and his work is always perfect. He would re do the job if not done correctly. Tell the dealer it is time for a second chance and get them to do it right...
Wooha317
I took it in to the dealer last night and had the accesories manager look at the car. He said the debris shouldn't be there and they would replace the driver's side window. I told him there was debris on every window. he told me sometimes that happens and Lexus doesn't have a clean room and they would take care of it. I called this AM and made an appointment and told him I wanted the whole thing redone. I specifically asked him if he could assure me a professional tint job. he said he cannot guarantee that the tinti will 100% dust free. I again asked him to assure me a professional job. he said he couldn't assure me they would do a professional job. I told him I would be dropping off the car next tuesday and expect him to remove the tint and clean the windows as they were when I dropped it off last week, and I expected my $300 back. he said he would refund the money and clean the windows. I need to apologize to the forum for my first post last week in relation to my thoughts on people's negative thoughts on the car. i now realize that this forum allows people to vent their frusterations. I have egg on my face!
Mawatte
I have mine done at an independent company, they did a great job. One thing to make sure is that you get ceramic tint if you have GPS, etc.
