Desensitizing The Alarm

Bardonia

Recommended Posts

My alarm has gone off a couple of times with the car parked in my driveway. I have had to go out and start the engine to stop it.

1) Can this alarm be disconnected or can its sensitivity be reduced?

2) Does it shut off after a certain period of time? What happens if it goes off when I am away from the car for several hours?

:cries:

Since the car is still under warranty, I would let your Lexus dealer check out the alarm system.....that is definitely something that has to be professionally checked out.

This is the first post that I've read about this type of problem, but to answer your questions, yes, it can be disconnected, and no, the factory system doesn't use motion sensors, so sensitivity does not fit into this equation. Yes, the alarm will shut off after about 3 minutes.

Thank you, Alan.
