2005 ES330 Salvage Title
Updated the 2005 Navigation DVD and now the work around for finding a destination while moving doesn't work. Does anyone know of a new work around? Thanks Most likely you upgraded to the 6.1 firmware, which no longer supports the bypass. There are several options out there to circumvent the problem, which include: - making a hybrid 5.1 / 6.1 DVD, retaining the older configuration files (very difficult) - building a mock speed sensor generator to replace the VSS connection to the NAV unit (difficult, but can be done for $50 by the author, and as far as I know works on the 2007 Tundra. I am building one for my 2007 Camry, as most likely uses the same wiring harnesses. I don't know if this will work with older models, but you sure can try. THIS VOIDS WARRANTIES!!) Once I get this finished on my new camry, I'm going to try on my 2005 ES330 as well, as I don't like to use the bypass method. Here's the website to the VSS emulator: http://www.pinemountainfirearms.com/pmf/tundramods/ and click the "NAV Speed Pulse Generator" link. I'll keep you posted on my progress on this.
