Interior Trim Damage

Recommended Posts

I'm new here, just registerred.

I have a 2007 GS 350, Smoky Granite exterior and black interior.

This car is new, just had the first oil change. I am noticing damage to the interior trim at the driver's door pillar. It must be from my cell phone, which I used to wear on my hip. Anyway, the trim is scratched and I have not been able to rub it out with Armor All.

Has anyone else had this problem, and how can I repair the damage?

I have a 2007 ES 350 also with Smoky Granite exterior and Black interior. I've noticed that the interior seems to 'scratch' very easily - e.g. I've gotten small scratch type marks on the dash from lightly brushing it while putting a sunshade in the front window and from my wife just lightly brushing the dash her shoe (when crossing her feet). I got the same type of scratch on the back pocket of my front seat from my daughter brushing her shoe against it (made of the same material as the dash).

Interestingly, when you look at the marks, there isn't really an actual scratch - e.g. it's really more of a mark that is made. I haven't found anything yet that gets rid of the marks. I've tried washing with water and also tried applying ArmorAll. Both helped a little, but neither completely got rid of the marks.

I asked the dealer when I took it in for the 5000 maintenance. They tried a couple different cleaning sprays on it - but they didn't work either. Their advice was to come in when their Detail specialist was in. I haven't had the time to do so yet.
