Okham R
I drive a RX350 in Alberta Winter Conditions - Where Temperatures of -30 to -40 C are not uncommon. Lexus recommends the use of SAE90 GL-5 for summer use and SAE80 GL-5 for winter rear differential use. Neither gear oil has sufficient low-temperature flow to prevent damage below -27 degrees C - and so here is my question ? Has anyone used 75w-90 synthetic GL-5 gear oil in a Lexus differential ? 75w-90 meets all low temperature flow requirments to a low of -40 C and is commonly used in most Canadian GM, Ford and Chrysler vehicles where SAE80w-90 GL-5 would otherwise be recommended.
