heavylexus470
So folk I'm disabled and really enjoy washing and waxing my 470. The only problem is getting to the roof. Ladders just don't get you close enough without you almost scratching the paint. So I'm thinking about having the top covered in a material that would resist the weather. This would only be the area right under the luggage rack (I can reach the area foward of the sunroof) any ideas or advice Thanks
mehullica
Have the whole top covered with a colored spray on bedliner. Never have to worry about the top again, besides the truck is so high, no one will ever see it anyway.
Jim_Chow
I'd just leave the top alone. A quality urethane/clear coat like what lexus uses should stand up to the elements for 20 yrs. If you spray a bedliner on top, the black color will turn the car into an oven. Better to do nothing, IMHO. Or have it detailed once a year, including the top.
