gbhrps Posted August 3, 2007 Share Posted August 3, 2007 You don't give us the year of your car, so I'll add what I recall of doing the same job on the 97 ES we used to have, before our present ride. I believe I used the short bolts that anchor the brake flexhose to the strut, or the long bolts that held the caliper to the caliper mounting bracket. This was on the rears, since I had no problems removing the front rotors after the caliper was removed. I can't tell you what the size of the bolt is, other than for a 97 either of the two bolts I described worked just fine, as I recall. Good Luck! CT-ES300 Posted August 3, 2007 Author Share Posted August 3, 2007 I didn't think they varied all that much between years, mines a '97. Turns out the bolt was the same size in the new rotors, 8mm X 1.25. There was alot of sand and debris in the holes. Once cleaned with a pick and some weasel *BLEEP*, I was able to thread the bolt I had in and the rotors cane right off. Driver's side 4 hours; pass. 1hr. from putting the jack under. steviej Posted August 6, 2007 Share Posted August 6, 2007 I remember doing my rotors. One hole was so badly clogged/rusted that I couldn't thread the bolt in. Used only one bolt and did it slowly. I had that sudden sick feeling in my stomach when I heard the "THUNK". I didn't know weather the bolt broke or the rotor popped off the hub.
