Gabbar Singh
Hi, I am a new addition to the Lexus community as I just bought a '99 ES 300 earlier today. I got a mechanic to do a buyer's check on the car before I bought it. One of the suggestions was about a single tire being more worn than the other three and needing replacement. The three main tires are Yokohama P205/65R15. As it turns out, one of my friends has an unused Yokohama P215/60R15 from his '98 ES300. So, my question to the knowledgable folks here is: Can I put a P215/60R15 as a 4th tire when the 3 existing tires are P205/65R15? Thanks a lot for your time and your help. gabep
I would not. Mismatched tires can cause a tracking problem.

Gabbar Singh
I would not. Mismatched tires can cause a tracking problem. Thanks a lot. Let's see if we get some more opinions. By the way, I just found out that there is a separate "tires and wheels" forum. If the moderators feel that this thread does not belong here, please feel free to move it. Gabbar Singh
Guru advice.... Buy 4 new tires Thanks dcfish, The other three tires have substantial tread left on them and that's why I was hoping to get by with a comparable new 4th tire. Can you please provide your opinion regarding the suitability of the tire posted in my question as a replacement?
