shoozboomer
Three days ago, I had a hitch intalled on my RX. The work was done at a local truck speciallty store that goes excellent (not cheap) work. Today, after a days worth of shopping and getting in and out of the truck, my hatch doesn not work. I have tried the remote and the manual (key) method to unclock the hatch. When the hatch is in the locked position the handle feels normal (loose). When I unlock it, it feels like somthing is stuck. I have removed the rear carpet cover and examined the locking mechanisim, it all looks good. Does anyone have a diagram of the rear-hatch lock? Is there an Emergency hatch opening procedure available? I'm locked in the trunk and cant get out!!! RBL>

Mine seems to have lost the spring in the release that you pull on to unlatch it. I have to push the lever back after I open it or it will not work the next time. May have nothing to do with your problem, but worth a try.
