Front Passenger Seat Airbag Activation Switch On An Es350

Is anyone with an ES350 having a problem with front passenger seat airbag activation switch going on and off?

If you have someone that weights about 100 lbs or so, the airbag light keeps going on and off.

Definitely sounds like a sensor problem. Bring the car back to your dealer and have it corrected.

yes I have the same issue when my wife sit there.. she weigh 100 to 105 and I always have to push down on the seat for her LOL

you have the imagine the sensor on the bottom of the seat, it measures the weight of the occupant to ensure the airbag does more good than harm. The problem is, it only measures "butt force", so just the weight you put on the seat, so your arms and legs or anything your leaning on will reduce that weight. So someone around 100lbs might only be putting down 70 lbs of "butt force"

I too have this problem. I took my car back to the dealer today in Riverside, CA and they are taking care of it. Something about changing the sensor and some mini computer then recalibrating it. It should be fixed by tomorrow.
