spender Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Greetings, I current have these rims on my 2004 Lexus LS430 (but NOT chromed, this is just for illustration) - they were apparently used from 2002 to 2005: But I want to throw these on to be my summer rims (the original ones are a little scratched up so I want to use them for winters), these were apparently issued by Lexus from 2001 to 2004: Is this going to cause me problems with the TPMS system (the little pressure sensors) because they are from 2001?
spender Posted June 10, 2007 Author Posted June 10, 2007 I have discovered that the LS430 from 2004 to 2006 used an "indirect" system, which I believe means there were no sensors directly in the rims/tires themselves, check out this table. Apparently, the LS430 has always used this indirect system, which apparently calculates it by using the ABS/VSC system.
SW03ES Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Your rims were used from 04-06, the rims you showed were used from 01-04 as an option with 16inch standard rims.
spender Posted June 10, 2007 Author Posted June 10, 2007 Oh, you mean that the second picture I showed above were the 17" upgrade to the 16" standard size from 2001 to 2004?
SW03ES Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Yep, they had one 16 inch design in 01, and then a different 16 inch design from 02-03. In 04 they came out with the wheels you have as standard after the refresh with 18s as optional.
