mc teg Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Hi everyone. I own a 91 Lexus Ls 400 with a little over 220k miles on it. I just replaced the fuel injectors last week and hooked up all the fuel emissions hoses and all that. When I started the car up, the idle was down about 800 rpms and even lower when in drive. I replaced the throttle body sensor to see if that helped and that did help a little. My question is could it be the Map sensor needs to be replaced, is there a certain position the throttle body sensor needs to positioned at, or does the ecu need to be reprogrammed to balance the air/fuel ratio? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks
92Lex Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Your car doesn't have a MAP sensor. If I remember correctly, your car should idle at around 600 rpm's. Where does it idle at in gear?
mc teg Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 No it has a Map sensor. Or is it called a MAF sensor? The car idles at 800 rpm on drive but the whole car shakes when in drive or reverse.
sheab Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 i would start with checkin ... the fuel injector one more time makesure its working ...+ clean ur throttle body .. i think/guess ur throttle body sensor is not position correctly ... ur ideal is on ur throttle sensor .. and clean the MAF and see that help --- good luck
qha_vn Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 i guess the correct name should be MAF meaning mass air flow sensor
