rasta420
I'm dealing with a friend's 99 ES300 which is throwing code P1354 and misfire codes for Cylinders 2, 4, and 6, all on Bank 2. When the car is cold, the car idles fine, but once the car is warm, the idle surges all the way to 1400-1500 rpm and stays there. The engine runs rough and misfire is very apparent. I'm trying to see if anyone else had this problem, or where I should start probing for problems. Anything would help. Thanks.
anthonyiez
the oil control valve for the vvt-i system is bad on that bank. you can try cleaning it, but they don't cost all that much.
anthonyiez
did you end up fixing this?
greenman1331
I'm having the same trouble, same code, bank and cylinders misfiring (Same year make and model too). However I can't find anyone who carries the OCV, does anyone here know where I could find one, I just spent an hour or so on google with no luck :cries:
greenman1331
Well, I found that I could order it through the dealer for 120 bones. I also found out that you have to take the timing belt off to get it out and put the new one in. I ended up having the dealership put it in (850$), I've had bad experiences changing timing belts before, I had to almost remove the engine in my gt3000 to change it... But it was the OCV for sure.
