Hi all, new member.........but I have done my research first.

The problem I have on my 1991 ls400 is as follows:

Drivers seat will not move......

The passenger seat is fine, the steering column and mirrors all move fine as does the belt adjutment.

The drivers seat lumber works fine

whenever you press the adjustment buttons you get a click from the seat ecu.

the memory buttons move all but the seat

there is power to the seat and I have replaced the ecu.

Is there somthing that needs pushing or pulling to make it work?

Any advice appreciated

Check the motor that moves the seat. It seems likely it is the defective part, since you've replaced the ECU, and you say the seat switch triggers the relay.

I have changed the motor, hence I am wondering is there a sequence to operation (does the ignition need to be on or the handbrake on etc).

The relay within the ecu is clicking.

The story is that the ignition wires were cut and all joined together, I have now seperated them and correctly (I believe) reconnected them but no joy.

I would think iif it were another faulty motor one of the other seat functions would work.....e.g. recline.

The lumbar function is wired independently from the other functions!
