todd332 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 I have a question about the shiffting pattern on my 1992 lexus es 300.. Sometimes when the gears are changing , they feel like the slip into the next gear , or like its a slow shift into the next gear ..hard to descibe. But is this normal for the trans to shift like this ? I dont remeber if my previous lexus shiftted like that..The screen and fluids are new and upto date. Mounts are new . The car has 153,000 miles

92Lex Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Normal for a slipping torque converter but not for one in good condition.
todd332 Posted January 25, 2007 Author Posted January 25, 2007 So how is one to go about fixing this promblem? Trans flush?
92Lex Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 There isn't really a fix for it, besides replacing the converter itself. Just do the regular fluid changes on a timely matter and drive it until it gives.
