todd332
I have a question about the shiffting pattern on my 1992 lexus es 300.. Sometimes when the gears are changing , they feel like the slip into the next gear , or like its a slow shift into the next gear ..hard to descibe. But is this normal for the trans to shift like this ? I dont remeber if my previous lexus shiftted like that..The screen and fluids are new and upto date. Mounts are new . The car has 153,000 miles

todd332
So that is normal?
92Lex
Normal for a slipping torque converter but not for one in good condition.
todd332
So how is one to go about fixing this promblem? Trans flush?
92Lex
There isn't really a fix for it, besides replacing the converter itself. Just do the regular fluid changes on a timely matter and drive it until it gives.
