Winter Tires/wheels For Is350

I have an '06 IS350 with 18 inch summer tires, and need to get winter tires/rims. I've never needed to change tires for winter before, as I've previously driven 4WD or FWD w/ all seasons.

Any suggestions? Are people using their existing rims or getting new ones for the winter tires? What kind of tires? I live in north :) ern CT, so we usually get a fair share of snow and ice.
