A/c Filter And Cabin Air Filter

Hi all!

I have two questions:

1. A/C Filter and Cabin Air Filter are the same?

2. Can I ask my local auto repair shop mechanic to change A/C Filter instead of spending $$$$$ at the Lexus dealer? (I intend to order A/C Filter online and take it to my mechanic.)

Maybe I am wrong but they are the same. I just installed a new cabin filter on my 98. $19 for a wix filter.Takes about 5 minutes.

Yes, a/c filter and cabin air filter are the same thing. It is not necessary to pay someone else to install the filter when the owner's manual explicitly details the step-by-step process in doing it yourself. Just keep in mind that the filter is actually a 2-piece unit for your model year ES, and that you don't have much space when working in the filter area.
