kaotiq
Hey guys, i relatively new to this board but so far the info on here is excellent. Now i have a tough question for you all. im about to swap to a 1jz pretty soon, and im stuck between options. 1) a complete motor with 5spd tranny with ecu and wiring harness but no extras. 2) Toyota chaser front clip with all the extras (ie power steering reservoir, hoses, blah blah) BUT this front clip is an auto tranny. right now i have a 1992 5spd SC300... im leaning more towards option #2 but im not sure about the wiring. Im quite concerned on how to get it to work... what do you guys recommend?

AWJ
If you have the ecu and pinouts info for the #2 option, then you can make your own harness. Takes a long time. Some companies can make them for you. Or try a standalone from the basic SDS all the way up to AEM piece. What is the question? I don't recommend a 1jz swap but the 1 and 2 choices sound basically the same.

From what i have been asking from everyone, they are telling me to use a standalone unit. the reason im swapping a 1jz is $$$$$$ the price differences between the 2jz with the 1jz is quite a lot as you already know.
