Sundeep
Hey fellas, I am currently in the market looking for a GS prefrebly 1998-2001. The question I have for you guys is that what are the differences between the GS's? I know the motors are different but is there any difference in luxury? I currently own a Lincoln Ls and I love the automatic streering wheel and seats when you plug the key in. Those minor things just make me fall in love with a car. Are there any major differences in the models for the GS's. Also what would be the best platform to go through with a 2jzgte swap. I hear alot of talk about this, a few have pulled it off and I want to be the next to do it. Let me know! thanks- deep

The only major difference for those years is that GS 400 comes with the E-shift, four buttons located on the steering wheel that let you upshift and downshift. After 2001, they put the E-shift on the GS 300 but take it off from the 400. Most GS 400s come with 17" wheels while the GS 300 come with 16". IF you are looking for an early 98' model (especially with the 17"), make sure you test drive it on the freeway/high speed driving. Because when it first came out, many GS 400 w/ 17" suffered shimmy condition during high speed driving, the power steering rack preload was too loose. It had been much improved along the way but this is some you want to look at. 2) Most people do 2JZ-GTE swap with the GS 300 because 300 is equipped with 2JZ-GE, which is a non-turbo version of that engine. I personally haven't done such mods but that's what most people choose ainxw rhw mounting, engine block are very similar.
