droppedlexus
ok I have seen this topic discussed a few times but no definate answer,......here is my problem I notice a couple of months ago that my center console would shut off. Now what I notice is this If my center console is "acting up" and I turn the key " not starting the car" but turning the key enough that the radio and AC and clock should turn on "they don't" but the rest of the electronic compnets work fine...now I assume that my battery should kick in at this point, since the car is not started can I assume that this problem is not my altenator? I beleive this problem could be a bad ground, because this seem to start happening after I had an aftermarket radio put in. also one more thing if I turn the car on and the center console is working ie "AC and clock" once I turn the radio on everything starts to mess up.....even if I turn the ac off the radio still fails to function properly... Fidel Castrol
Sometimes it's as simple as a blown fuse that handles the center dash components (A/C, radio, clock, temperature).
Lex01_430
i had a similar problem...was actually a loose cable to the battery. the connection looked good but was loose. i'm not convinced that it would be a fuse because i've never seen a half working fuse...g/l
