lancesavage
Just got my timing belt changed. Book says to have it done at 90K. Mine was changed around 100K but did not look to be worn or damaged. Any comments from a qualified mechanic on this one. Just curious.
Benjamin Tang
enjoy the peace of mind that you've done the t-belt. i've read too many stories about people saying "it looked fine" after the belt broke and the engine ate all it's valves :chairshot: mine was done late also (previous owner skipped it because he was selling the car... doh). when it came out one side was unravelling and a strand was flapping free. otherwise there were no missing teeth or cracking/wear. but when the mechanic put the new and old one together, the old belt had stretched and was slightly longer than the new one... no idea what that had done to the timing :o
