LEE 0 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 howdy, I have '92 SC400 and both temp and fuel guage needles only partially light up. is there ant fix for this? I know how to remove and disassemble instrument cluster. thank you, Lee O from beautiful tornado alley Iowa
lexus082 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Well no there's no fix you can do yourself, unless you just replace them with oem needles. The temp needle and the fuel needle are $200 (total) from Lexus. Unless you send your cluster to http://www.lextech.org/ for repair. Your rpm and speedo needles will also fail unless they were replaced before. Usually the speedo and the rpm needles fail first. Its an extremely common problem.
vman1100 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 howdy, I have '92 SC400 and both temp and fuel guage needles only partially light up. is there ant fix for this? I know how to remove and disassemble instrument cluster. thank you, Lee O from beautiful tornado alley Iowa I wouldn't send them to lex#$%@ lighting. They do not do what they say they will and basically they grab the next cluster off the pile and slap new needles in. Therein lies the problem. They promised me that everything would be working and calibrated before being sent out. My gas guage has never worked correctly since and my speedometer is off by 6 mph. - it understatesmy speed, thereby putting me at risk. I have tried every fix lex#$%@ has quipped to me and finally they just stopped answering my emails. Nice way to do business - huh ? DO NOT SEND YOUR INSTRUEMNT CLUSTER TO lex#%$@ lighting. I am sorry I ever heard of them. If it was up to me, I would have evry reference to them banned from this site... Vince...
TexasComputerMan Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I have to agree with VMAN1100 about LexTeckh.Org. They put me through a lot when they worked on my cluster. Read this http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=31187 to see what I wnt through. The people at Lextech are not helpful at all. I had to really badger them to fix mine. However, now that it is done (I spent over $600.00 on this) the cluster is very nice. If I had it to do over again, knowing what I now jnow about Lextech.org and how much I would end up spending, I would try these guys: http://www.dashusa.com/
