tomrhyne
I just cleaned my dash in my new ES350 using Sonus Cockpit Detailer and a microfiber towel. When I got through I noticed some streaks on the dash and I thought there may have been residue buildup. Put some more cockpit detailer on a fiber towel and gently rubed it. They wouldn't come off. A closer examination revealed that the dash was marred. Has anyone experienced this? Any idea on what caused the marrs and any suggestions on how to remove them? Thanks. SW03ES
The dash material CAN become marred, but its pretty difficult to do. more likely its just residue, and the residue from that highly grained vinyl can be hard to remove. Try cleaning the panel with the detailer and then wiping it down well with a damp cloth before drying.
Rx330driver
funny you bring this up, cause i have these white circular marks on my dash, on that fake leather looking thing and it wont come off. I assume that you have the same problem, looks like someone used sand paper and rubbed it. horrible!
tomrhyne
Well I succeeded in removing the marrs. I started by putting a small amount of Sonus cockpit detailer on a microfiber covered sponge applicator and weting the area pretty good. I then took a soft toothbrush and scrubbed the areas of concern. I then wiped the area down with a microfiber towel. As soon as I wiped the area with a dry microfiber towel, the streaks reappeared. I thought I was using a detailing towel, but with a closer examination, I discovered I was using a Sonus der wunder drying towel. I have no idea if this could have been the cause. I got rid of the marrs by using the same microfiber smonge with the cockpit detaler applied and going in a circular motion over the dash. Instead of using the microfiber towel to dry the dash, I simply flipped the smonge over and used the dry side to buff it in a circular motion. The marrs disappered. Any suggestion as to what caused this would be appreciated. Tom <><
SW03ES
Personally I prefer terry cloth towels to MF for the interior vinyl.
