donbl Posted June 15, 2006 Share Posted June 15, 2006 Had a good long crack in the windshield on 2006 GS300 with only 5000 miles on it. Replaced today in my garage by a professional. Interesting point: There are a tremendous number of clips and cowlings that must come off and be reset to replace the windshield. The strip that goes from the windshield over the roof and to the trunk on both sides had to be removed as well as the plastic cowling under the wipers. Many owners have complained about popping and and cracking noises in the vicinity of the windshield. This could very well be due to the glue not setting up correctly on new cars. The installer said that is exactly what happens for three days or so until the glue sets. Winter is the worse time for the problem. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
