pjer
Hi Guys, Does anyone have crash test results for the Lexus SC 430? I just had an accident with my lexus sc430 and i was wondering why my axle (wishbone) broke at that accident, in a parking lot. It made the car loose control and slammed on the parked cars. At the accident, the left front wheel was underneath the car. It locked on a turn which I am sure that the wheel axle broke and pulled the brake because the brakes did not function at that time. The pictures showed that it broke at the wish bone connected to the body. Lexus is investigating. Did anybody had this experience. I saw somebody asking here if there was a crash test done for this car. I found none.
rkishur
Hi Guys, Does anyone have crash test results for the Lexus SC 430? I have some practical information that may be helpful. My wife experienced a head-on when someone ran a red light and turned left in front of her. She was driving her 2002 SC and t-boned the other car. Both front air bags deployed even with no one in the pasenger seat. My wife was well protected and suffered no significnat medical problems, just sore for a few days. Of course, her seat and shoulder belts were in place. The front end absorbed the 40mph inpact and crumpled as designed. No damage past the firewall. I have always believed that Lexus automobiles are well built and safer than most other cars. I'm even more convinced now. Oh ya, I bought her a new SC to replace the one that was totaled by our insurance company.
