Would A Bad Egr Pop A Code?

Recommended Posts

1997 Lexus ES300, 100k miles, regularly maintained at the Lexus dealer.

Engine hesitation, searched the forum, came up with cleaning the throttle body or O2 sensors going bad.

Car is not popping any codes at all, the Lexus senior tech took her car home last night, got it to do it once, said that it was the EGR valve.

She hasn't had the throttle body cleaned, and the O2's aren't bad enough to code, apparently, if they are going bad.

Whitout any codes its difficult even with the codes its sometimes difficult to pinpoint where the trouble is.

start by the easy stuff clean all the upper stuff like T/B MAF and change the fuel filter also if it hasnt been in a while
