paries
Hello, I think i am going to attempt to replace my value cover gaskets myself on a 97 es300. The labour to do it is $400. Has anyone done these themselves. I guess the tough one is the one close to the firewall Any hints or gotchas? Do i need any weird tools? Thanks Randy
mehullica
Unbolt the pipe from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve, instead of removing the EGR valve. Loosen the engine removal hook on the passanger side from the block and remove the bolt in the manifold. Will help in aligning the bolt later. Its a piece of cake, you can do the frnt one in 20 mins, the back one will take about an hour (2 if you have never done it before). no special tools, just map/label the vaccuum hoses. make sure you have RTV.
