97LS400PA
1997 Lexus LS400 V8-4.0L (1UZ-FE) I'M TRYING TO REPLACE THE "BELT TENSIONER PULLEY". MY QUESTION IS: WHICH WAY IS THE BOLT THREADED? DO I TURN CLOCKWISE OR COUNTER CLOCKWISE TO REMOVE THE BOLT? I'VE READ THAT ON SOME OLDER YEARS THE BOLT IS "LEFT" THREADED. I'M NOT SURE IF THE SAME IS TRUE FOR THE 97. I DON'T WANT TO FORCE IT THE WRONG WAY AND CAUSE A BIGGER PROBLEM!!!HELP
lexus400
I did mine a few months ago on my '91 and it was reverse threaded. Try that first... I couldn't find a procedure in the manual to verify, I just had a feeling since it wouldn't move the other way.
