mmoazzam
hello folks, i need your input on this confusing issue.......do you really have to change the srs/airbag control module or computer once the front airbags are deployed on 2000 model? what does it mean when the sticker on the module says "do not open. consult manual for maintenance"? the body shop and most dealers say it has to be replaced otherwise the airbags won't deploy in the event of crash. but one service cnsultant said that it might be reset. what's the truth? can this thing be reset? GuyTelefunken
Common sense mandates replacement. There is no such thing as resetting an airbag module. Personally, I wouldn't want to be driving or riding along in a car that had the SRS system tampered with and/or improperly repaired. It is just plain ludicrous to even consider it.
