Lexus Gs400 Navigation

Recommended Posts

My 2000 Gs400 did not come with a Nav system, I found a donor gs400 with the system, does anyone know if the car is already prewired with the wiring harness for the nav system? can an oem system be added?

Again, NO PREWIRE :cries: But if you have a donor it can be done. Out with everything pioneer including the amp and in with everything nav. You will not be able to pull the line from the trunk to the dash from the donor it is integrated into the body harness. So you will have to run a digital line seperately and that my friend you will have to integrate into the existing connectors which will take a little more than a plug and play. If you are not familiar with this type of work failure is inevitable.

There is a way to do it that is not easy, it requires a totally seperate harness that is "jumpered" into the existing wiring. The nav system touches the audo amp system for voice commands, the data link system for speed info used for the GPS display, power from the audio feed and the harness runs from the dash to the trunk!!! What a b%*&h to install!!! But if you are really stubborn, you can do it... I'm sure you can install a good aftermarket unit for a lot less misery. I recommend the new Pioneer systems.

If you decide to not pursue the upgrade, please let me know, I'd be interested in the components.

Thanks, Cesar
