Gary N Posted February 11, 2006 Share Posted February 11, 2006 I removed the radiator reservoir and power steering pump fluid reservoir in preparation for removing the PS pump. Got the nut off, removed the belt, but the pulley won't come off. It's as if it's glued on or something. If anyone has done the PS rebuild and had the same problem, I could really use the help...I don't want to bend the shaft... Also, what size is the steering column nut (the big golden one) ?. The thing is humongous. I think I will use a combination wrench as I dont know of any sockets that will fit in such a shallow opening. Any help appreciated. mehullica Posted February 12, 2006 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Spray some rust penetrant on the shaft/pulley area, and with a big screwdriver or pry bar it'll pop off. pry and spin the pulley multiple times and "walk" the pulley right off.
