Hi,

I am based in the UK but am posting here in the hope that someone will know if the new AFS headlight minimum level can be adjusted up by dealers?

My new car's headlights illuminate for a far shorter distance that the mark 1 or mark 2 GS300's that I had without the HID / AFS etc. This is because when you start the car, they adjust to a setting that is too low. I wonder how they determine what level to set at?

In fact, my new "automatic" GS430 illimination distance is very similiar to the mark 2 manual setting on the lowest level, which should be used when towing something heavy to stop dazzling other drivers.

I have looked for the answer on the UK forum to no avail. Any help appreciated.

Best regards,

Marcus.

Hi ChuckB,

Do you have a mk2 car? Is it not possible for you to manually adjust the level or does it have HID lights with an auto leveller like my mk3 (is it 2006) model? Thanks, Marcus.

I have 2nd gen with oem HID with auto level. there is a reference point the leveler can be set to. one sensor on front and one on rear. the rear is the only one they have to adjust I believe.
