Hello everybody,

I have a problem with my purchase of Lexus RX300.It was bought from Kentucky dealership, obviously,it's a used car and carried no warranty. When I checked the car, everything was OK.I bought it and brought it to Atlanta, next thing I know, check engine light is on.I suspect that the dealership just reset the light and tricked me.I can't even get the emission passed in Georgia.

Now here is the questions.According to laws in Georgia, dealer is responsible for vehicle emission,in other words,if the car doesn't pass emission test, buyer can return the car or request it be fixed.

Is there anything I can do about my case? There must have been cases like mine on this forum,so I hope to get some advise. Is there anything I can do to return the car or get the dealership fix it?I called the dealership and told them the light is on and I don't want the car,but they refused to take it back. Please advise!!

Hence,I signed the paperwork and got a temporary tag for the car.

I would contact the Bureau of Automotive Repairs for the State of Kentucky and possibly the State Attorney General, The Better Business Bureau, etc. And see if you can get some satisfaction. Then go to an auto parts store and run some codes on the vehicle to see what is causing the check engine light. ( dont forget the gas cap being on tight)
