1997 Es300 Adjustable Struts

My daughter drives a 1997 ES300 that has adjustable suspension. The car has about 135k on it and it bounces quite a bit these days. I figure at this mileage, it's way overdue for struts. Everywhere I have looked, the vendors all specify "non-adjustable" replacements. Two questions:

1) Where can I get adjustable replacements? If available, are they insanely more expensive than the non-adjustable counterparts?

2) Can I just put non-adjustable struts in place of the ones that are there now - rendering it to be non-adjustable? The adjustment is kind of a joke in our family anyway. The drivers of this car have been of the female gender and they almost always have a purse or something resting on the console right on top of the ride adjustment switch. It's usually all the way up or all the way down, depending on the direction of the last motion of the purse.

OOOOOOooooo The rare AVS option. I've never heard what happens when you put non-adjustable struts on there.

You can put whatever you want on it. I'm sure that if it has a problem you could always go back and swap whatever random electronics over, or simply outright fool it.
