Verizon's New 6256i And Bluetooth

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried Verizon's new phone model 6256i that is fully bluetooth enabled? It is just being released to indirect agents such as Best Buy, Radio Shack, and Wireless Zone. It does have OBEX, so I wonder if it will work for phonebook transfers as well as the usual bluetooth talk connections.

As long as it has the feature to let you send the entire phonebook in one shot otherwise you have to do one at a time.

My understanding, after talking to Verizon, is that they have disabled the phone's capability (actually all phones using Verizon) of sending the phonebooks. This, as they say, is for your protection in case the phone is stolen. It is not about whether the phone has the capabilty.

Not this one. It has full stack Bluetooth. Verizon broke the rules and is selling this one through third party retailers only, and NOT through it's corporate stores. Check it out:

Try this procedure with the Nokia 6256i. One contact at a time.

First, pair the phone to car.

Then, select the contact you want to transfer.

Select the car when it finds the BT device

OR, for the more computer savvy, do it with a laptop computer:
