Lex01_430
i have an 01 430 that has an intermittent problem with my AC. The AC panel works, however sometimes the blower does not turn on. Has anyone ever seen this before? can it be related to the 98 problem?

You could try resetting the system or checking codes to see if it helps. <_<

TurboGS300
how do i reset the system? can I check the codes or do i need to take it to the dealership? ← I believe you just remove the battery cables and hold the brakes to drain any residual current. Yes, you'll need to take it to the dealer to check for codes. However, if you reset the system all codes might be lost, if there not backed up by a battery backup in the ECM. so try the reset and if it continues, then take it to the dealer for a diagnostic check. GuyTelefunken
Are you referring to the problem with the integrated navigation unit/control panel needing to be exchanged for a software update? This problem was corrected in MY2000. Most likely, you have an issue with the blower motor controller (Lexus-speak for blower motor resistor) or the blower itself. As with most problems intermittent, it's easiest to diagnose when it becomes a constant problem. Are there any particular instances or conditions under which you can make this problem occur? Lex01_430
There seems to be no particular pattern for the A/C. I am waiting till it gets worse till I take it in so that it doesn't work for the techs and they can check out the problem. Do you know how much theese parts w/labor might cost? ballz
I'm sorry for bringing this thread back to life, but I am having the same problem and am desperate for some answers. I called lexus and they said there was no blower motor "resistor", but instead a blower motor "controller" which was about 230 dollars as opposed to the ~27 dollar "resistor". can anyone verify that this is the correct or incorrect part? the lexus dealer closest to me isn't that close and I'd like to order the part and install it myself if possible.
