Suspension Problem?

Whenever I go over deep pot holes, or speed bumps at low or high speeds I hear a very hard tumping sound. It sounds as if someone hits the wheel with a baseball bat. The ride remains smooth and the impact is absorbed, but it sounds as if something is about to snap any minute. Also, when I go over a speed bump or uneven road surface at a slow speed, I hear a steady, repeating, creaking sound. This sounds like someone is opening a door in a horror movie. Both sounds seem to be coming from the front passengers side wheel. Would anyone be able to clue me into which parts I may be needing to replace?

Thank You!

run a search on suspension issues, you'll find a lot of posts about this. It's a common problem relating to control arms, strut rods, shocks and bushings.
