chrisnisbet
I have a 95 LS400 with 84000km (~50K miles) on the clock. It is currently in for a service and they are going to fix an oil leak (under warranty) which will require that one of the heads is removed. This will obviously mean that the timing belt will have to come off. I'm wondering if this would be a good time to change the belt. I think it is probably a bit early, but changing the belt does seem to be a bit of an exercise, so I thought it might be worth it. You all agree? obergc
Timing belts are cheap, it would be extremely foolish to put an old belt on, that belt is 10 years old. I would consider a new water pump while I was at it.
