hobean
I have a 99 GS3. The battery is an Interstate, < 2 yrs old. Currently the car is dead, but there's a strange clicking/honking sound coming from the starter or somewhere near the starter. The security light is still blinking, but all other electronics are dead. If the battery is dead, what's the clicking/honking sound? The noise sounds like it is a combination of both a click and a honk, frequency is maybe a little faster than a second, and I know I didn't hear the sound when I left the car 4 hrs earlier. BTW, the clicking sound occurs with or without the key in the ignition. Will a jump resolve my issue? Will a new battery resolve it? Many thanks in advance. TurboGS300
Sounds like the OEM alarm is going off and the battery is about dead, also preventing it from starting? <_<
indiasfinest
could the alarm possible drain the battery and prevent it from starting..it was only 4 hours...

Could be a loose connection or corrosion as well on the battery, simulating the above scenario.
