Question For The 1j Guys

Recommended Posts

Any of you guys replaced your dump tubes. I'm not sure if this is the technical name for them or not. Just what I've seen them referred to as. If so, what brand (If any) and what kind of gains/behavior did you see out of replacing them? Oh, and what size are they?

Thanks!

Bump

I'm not going to let this get burried.

"I want to ask you a bunch of questions, and I want to have them answered immediately."

C'mon guys, if it's a stupid question lay it on me, anything. At least tell me that I'm an idiot, and I should know this already. I thought for SURE someone on here had a Soarer.

Well, I'm new to the 1J thing, but I don't think it is. Because the 1J has the two turbos facing away, there's pipes that go from each of the housings, then join, and meet the Downpipe. So if you replace everything up to the downpipe, there's still more that hasn't been replaced. That's what the black pipes are in the picture.

From what I've heard, there's really no point in replacing them, since they're basically 2.5" already. We're trying to make our own in 3" but we're worried about cross turbulence from one turbo to another. Basically with 3" there isn't enough room to keep them seperate pipes as far as you can with 2.5". That's why I was trying to find out if anyone has replaced theirs, or knows of someone who has. I know Rush (The people I stole the picture from) make some, and they're 2.5", but they're like somewhere around $500-700.

I'll try Clublexus though, thanks.
