Cd, Lights, Power

Recommended Posts

I just bought my 2000 GS 400 about a week ago......

I have no power to the center console or lighter, I think this is a fuse but I don't know where the fuse box is for that item.

I have no light on my radio, is there a fix for this.

I have a ERR 1 on my CD player display, it has power and seems to load CD's, I just don't have any sound.

Can anyone help?

The fuse for the lighter is under the dash behind the access panel on the left of the driver's footwell. It is a 15A marked CIG. This fuse powers both the cigarette lighter and the console power outlet.

If the backlight is out on your radio, meaning you can see the display but you have no green background, but the other lights on the radio work....you need to remove the radio (covered elsewhere on this forum) and replace the backlight lamps for your display. They must be ordered from Lexus (or possibly Pioneer parts 1-800-228-7221 if your radio is not Nakamichi).

Pioneer made (Lexus Premium labeled) audio systems have a built in diagnostics function. The procedure is in the .pdf below for checking for diagnostics codes. Additionally, you may want to disconnect the car battery for several minutes first to see if the error can be cleared.

Most likely your cd changer will need to be cleaned and/or repaired. If such is the case, look for an audio shop near you or ask your dealer where they send theirs. Most likely, the dealers use one of Pioneer's repair centers.
