Gumart1
I've removed my radiator and it is covered in dust and disintegrated leaves and such. I've read to use compressed air, and I've also read to use soap and water and a soft nylon brush and spray it clean with water. I don't want to damage the fins. Any suggestions? SRK
Use the garden hose from back to front to blow all the crud out of the rad in reverse direction. Set it flat for a while to drain, and reinstall. From a distance you can blow the water out of the fins with compressed air, but don't get too close.
ED.
Have you tried a shop vac? I did that on my 96. I removed as much as I could. I wanted to remove the radiator when I did the flush but I ran into so many problems I just wanted to get it finished. good luck
JasonInDallas
A fin cleaner is a tool made specifically for this job. Can be had for about ten bucks, and it will also do wonders for your A/C unit outside your house.
