The noted consumer surveying firm of J.D. Power and Associates has just released the results of their 2005 Initial Quality Study (IQS), which, in their words, "measures vehicle initial quality after the first 90 days of ownership. Often referred to as 'things gone wrong.'" We are pleased to note that the Lexus IS300/IS300 SportCross was found to be the highest-ranked vehicle in the Entry Luxury Car category, followed by, surprisingly, the Jaguar X-Type and the Cadillac CTS.

This was by no means the only favorable result for Lexus vehicles. The brand as a whole was the highest-ranked in the survey, with only 81 problems per 100 vehicles. The GS300/GS430 topped the Mid Luxury Car segment, and the Premium Luxury Car segment saw a 1-2 Lexus finish by the SC430 (the highest-ranked car in the entire survey) and the LS430. In the SUV ratings, the highest-ranked Entry Luxury Sport Utility Vehicle was the Lexus RX330, and the Premium Luxury Sport Utility Vehicle category saw another 1-2 Lexus finish by the GX470 and LX470.

:D
