Win Lowe
Hi I just got this 1996 GS 300 with 159000 miles and lots of little problems, the main problem now is the keys remotes are all broken (2, I think are suppose to be master keys) 1, valley and 1, wallet key. Last night after driving the car home I locked the car door with key about an hour went by and I open the car and the key would not start the engine the only one that would start the engine was the wallet key, once started all the other keys worked just fine what is causing this problem? I searched this forum and from I see it’s the 1997 and newer cars that need their keys and remotes re-programmed, am I correct in thinking this? :( Your input would be greatly appreciated on this matter Thanks Win

The antitheft system can prevent the car from starting if the car is not disarmed. Check your batteries in the remotes. You probably tried to start it with the antitheft activated, then disarmed it and it started up fine. <_< Also make sure the switch by your knee on the dash is set to on or the remotes will not work. The lights are not flashing and the horn is not going off. My users manual say “open any of the doors using ignition key or wireless door lock remote control” This will cancels the system completely and the starter circuit will be reactivated at once. Am I missing something or is my car messed up. Thinks WIn
TurboGS300
Ok then, Could be the starter or starter relay or antitheft relay or bad battery connections. <_< More than likely it's the starter.
