gremio
- A/C was working fine last summer, compressor used to make loud humming sound. - Now days, when I pushed the A/C button, I didn't notice any extra load on the engine, and there is NO cold air blowing. Usually the RPM level changes as soon as you turn on the A/C (A/C light does NOT blinks) - Alternator got replaced in winter time. Q. - Do I need to charge the A/C? - Is it possible that wires got lose while replacing the alternator? - Could the compressor have gotten bad due to the old humming sound?! Any feedback would be appreciated
POS
Loud humming sound could have been the start of a failure, but a lot of compressors make loud humming sounds. If the engine has no load on it, it's possible the AC clutch gave out even though the system still works. First thing in any case would be to get a gauge set hooked up to it so you can see the pressures inside the system. I wouldn't think a simple charge will solve your problem, but you can hope.
