RottiLV Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 I am really not satisfied with the sound of my stock Lexus/Pioneer audio system so please tell me about what you did to improve your listening pleasure. I'd like mostly to add a sub and an amp keeping the changer. thanks
Rookie Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 I am really not satisfied with the sound of my stock Lexus/Pioneer audio system so please tell me about what you did to improve your listening pleasure. I'd like mostly to add a sub and an amp keeping the changer. thanks ← Well, I've wired in a Rockford Fosgate Punch 250 amp and 2-12" Blau Subs to the stock head unit and changer. I tried to pull the signal at the head unit, but I couldn't pick it up there. I don't know if it was due to the common ground loop or what the deal was, but I ended up picking it up at the rear door speakers, post factory sub. Not ideal, but I think it sounds pretty good. You'll want the wiring diagram and color codes, cause the stock wiring is pretty complicating, at least for my level of expertise. There's really no good place to put the amp, unless up work up some custom enclosure. Mines in the rear floor board under the rear floor mat. All-in-all it's a little bit of a rig-a-ma-jig job, but the options are kind of limited unless you want to get fancy. Rookie.
